Hosting-forced Ad.Fly

Dear members,

I am sorry to tell you, but our forum hosting forces Ad.Fly on us when posting links to file-sharing services (Mediafire, 4Shared, etc). Make My Sims Real has nothing to do with that and we remain strongly against Ad.Fly links. The link is modified automatically and it can't be changed. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent the forum from doing it at all. However, we would like to try and keep our members safe and Ad.Fly free as much as possible.

Here are some workarounds for Ad.Fly:

Get an Ad.Fly skipper for your browser. Some great and working extensions are: Ad.Fly Skipper (Chrome, Firefox), Ad.Fly Bypasser (Chrome) and Ad.Fly Skipper by tote (Chrome). Getting Adblock is recommended as well.

Copy and paste the link. Example post: When you hover over a link, you can see it has the Ad.Fly prefix. Simply right-click and choose 'Copy link address'. Open a new tab and paste that link there. Remove everything before the actual link to the file.

If neither of those work for you and you'd like to download something that is behind one of those links on the forum, please message @Aileen with the link to the post on the forum.

Only a small minority of downloads lead to links that are automatically added an Ad.Fly prefix by the hosting, when there's no alternative to post a link elsewhere.
