To recover deleted files : Recuva

I would like to share an information that could be helpful.

If you ever deleted files for good, whatever the type (images, documents, videos, mp3s, etc.) you can recover them with an easy free tool called Recuva. I have a copy and for the usual tasks, no licence is needed.

Recuva, once installed (exe), will scan any section of your computer, external disk or the bin, that you select. In less than 20 minutes, it will show you a list of all files deleted.

From that list, all items will be marked with buttons : red means the file is corrupted, orange means that it might perhaps work again and green means that the file is in excellent condition.

If you wish so, you can pre-select either images, documents, videos, mp3s and check the ones you want to recover in an extra folder on your computer desktop.

I tested another program called Wondershare Data Recovery. I don't recommend it at all because once installed and if you don't know how to customise installation, it comes along with unwished features for navigation and such. Plus the scanning takes over 4 hours (LOL) before finding the deleted files.
